Drank at Restaurant Digby overlooking the Douro River in Porto. Sommelier’s recommendation for a light red. Spot on. Elegant. Very nice with a rich fish soup, beef and pork. 50€.

Darker ruby color. Pretty and interesting notes of sweet and sour red fruit, some barnyard, leather, also some herbals notes (simliar to stems), but also some pure red fruit, some balsamic notes and sweet spices. It doesn‘t just have the Burgundy kind of aromatics, but also a similar texture. Suprisingly fresh for Portugal, it has medium+ body, but very good mid-palate density, feels lighter than it is, also some good medium-high acidity and medium+ tannin that is very silky. Good length. A very pretty, elegant, almost Burgundian wine from Portugal.
