1/4 and this bottle is showing some light age/oxidative notes, so I'll get into another soon to see if it's consistent. Medium to deep golden color. Aromas of waxy yellow fruit, oxidative calvados like apple, lemon, pear, rubber, and seashells. Fairly full body, medium acid and finish, with flavors of lemon curd, yellow and green apple, along with that same oxidative apple vibe, lime, maybe some herbs in there, and a bit of a salty saline number in there. Even if it is showing a bit long in the tooth, it's a nice wine that I'm enjoying.

Retail $45. Under cork. While I am not familiar with this particular vineyard, I have taken several laps around the Alsatian wine scene and this is a solid effort. Despite being a half-dozen years out from the vintage, it is quite youthful in color (straw to slightly yellow), with plenty of citrus (grapefruit, lemon) on the nose. The palate is tart and on the verge of austere with a zinginess that belies its age. While this is far from the best Riesling I have tried from the region, but it is a fantastic representation of the genre.
100% Riesling of course. Aging in casks on fine lees for 10 months. 13% abv. Very nice aromatic nose with notes of citrus (candied green lemon in particular), exotic fruits (mango I think) & very first touch of beeswax. Perfect balance between elegant terpene aromas and greedy citrus fruits. The attack on the palate is almost sweet and suave. Complexity and tension are fully deployed in the mid-palate. Always these notes of lime with marked acidity, some Granny Smith apples, quinces and this terpene side which gives depth to the aromatic palette. I am surprised by the richness and the roundness but, superbly balanced by a lively acidity and a “made in granite” minerality, it's just sublime. A very slight bitterness at the end of the mouth gives the wine a dashing character and contributes to the length. Wow! It's so good! I can drink it at one gulp but my wife makes me black eyes. Considering the price charged, it's difficult not to succumb. [Photo on Instagram]
