  This Block Six is still racy. Just enough Northern Rhône barnyard to get my interest. Loads of Purisima black fruit. Still very dark Garney and no sign of any brickiness. A real gem. It’s got 6-10 more years (or more) Powdery Tanins.

  Deep garnet, showing very little brick at the edge. Very nice nose, bringing black fruits, hard spice, and that Syrah mustiness.
  Texture is well polished by bottle age, body firm. Long finish. Worth the wait.

  Big Syrah, incredibly complex and creative. I don’t get the negative reviews here. Green pepper, leather, baking spices. It’s austere, not over the top sweet, and very concentrated. The mouthfeel is great. This can sit in the cellar for another 5 years.

  Huge wine, need to decant the f out of it. Lots good here but this particular vintage has that urinal cake aroma that sometimes occurs with Syrah (though rarely Santa Barbara syrah). Not a fan of that, so I docked a bit. Those who aren’t sensitive to that aroma may enjoy it a lot.
