Agree w/others, it's ok on its own but reaches a better level w/tomato-based Italian dishes, pizza and pasta. Nice licorice-basil herbs and dark jamberry fruits with a little rustic earthiness does a body good. 88-90+

We had this with spaghetti, meatballs and spicy Fra Diavolo sauce. Good with all, and especially with the Carando Abruzzese Italian Pork Meatballs (our first time with this brand).
A great pairing with all.

Tasty wine. Red fruit, currant, cherry, spice, minerals and decent number of tannins. We had this with a meat lasagna (by Michael Angelo’s, which is not our regular brand).
I think it is slightly better with spaghetti, meatballs (beef, pork and turkey blend). Still a great wine, especially for $8.67 / bottle on sale. Good for $10 and $15 too. Best with Italian food. Drink now or hold.

Tasty wine. Red fruit, currants, spice, mineral and tannins. Quite good with our noodles, tomato sauce and meatballs with pork, turkey and beef.
Great qpr for $10 / bottle. Drink now or age for 1 year.
