Very typical syrah, blueberry, pepper, violet, this being juicy and fruit forward in Gonon style, but starting to develop some earthy notes, some bacon, I think I liked this even better a little younger, drink up!

Good God Gonon. Poured blind to me. I guessed it as top flight Cornas. What a wine. Pure Rhône Valley blood. Pure tight fruit and structure and perfect balance. And this wine is Ardeche! I used to sell Gonon. If I still did I would keep every bottle for myself. Now I have to taste some recent St Joseph. Drink. You could hold it but man when it’s this good it’s hard not to drink.

Gorgeous nose of violets, pepper, olives. Lively, juicy fruit on the palate, good acidity and freshness. Spicy with marks of pepper and dark olives, this is a great vintage of this wine. Will it get better? I don’t think so. Will it age well? Yes, I think so. But I would drink this now for the sheer pleasure of the fruit and the aromatics and then wait for the St-Jo.

Coming into its own. A bit astringent on opening but really blossoms with a couple hours air. Meat, olives, and sweet Gonon fruit. Hard to put down.
