Nearly opaque ruby – blackberry, dark spices, black cherry, smoke, dark chocolate, coffee, ink. Medium+ acid, medium+ tannins, 14.7% ABV, medium+ body, medium+ intensity, medium+ finish. Still quite youthful, but time has allowed the tannins to integrate nicely. Paired well with not only the savory meal of Slow-Cooker Turkey Chili but also the dessert of Seven Layer Cookies!
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot.

The last bottle seemed oddly confected--this is more along the lines of the first couple that I tasted. Pure cassis, herbs, classic New World BDX blend with good structure and flavor.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot: clear, medium ruby – dust, black currant, blackberry, black licorice. Medium acid, medium tannins, 14.7% ABV, full bodied, medium finish. Can drink now, but has potential for aging.

This is a legit $25-35 wine in my view, found on ultra-closeout. Black currant and dried herbs on the nose, perhaps a tad simple owing to the hot vintage, but also comes across as quite pure. Concentrated on the palate with ripe tannins, black currant again, well integrated oak. Very good finish, berries and herbs.
Strikes me as a blend of lots that were vinified in a high end style with quality oak, but later declassified. Probably more of a Napa/Sonoma style due to the ripeness, but far less spoofy/woody than a typical Napa-noma Cab blend at this tier.
