Drank at CKH with the Blancos. I've had this before with winemaker Axel Heinz--loved it then, love it now! Nose a bit reticent. On the palate, there's peach, melon, some apricot, minerals and other stony fruit. Medium body, slight acidity and a touch of lime. Solid fruit level, soft and on the viscous side. Hard to believe this is 100% SB as it's almost the diametric oppo of Sancerre, etc. Pleasingly long finish. Lovely, if expensive wine.

Again, 100% Sauvignon Blanc in the 2016 vintage. More mineral than the 2015. Needs some time. Shows some neutral barrel (maybe a very small portion of new) softening to the palate.

Vertical Tasting with Axel Heinz (The Dimenna Center for Classical Music): The ‘16 Bianco was hard to put down, as a display of rich exotic florals flooded the senses, followed by zesty citrus, ripe peach, wet stone, hints of woodland funk and dusty minerals. On the palate, I found soft, almost-oily textures, with savory stone fruits, salty minerality, spicy yellow citrus and yellow inner florals. Pliant yet poised, it finished medium in length, with a zing of spicy citrus, lingering mouthwatering acids, minerals, and dried apricot. Wow!
