A very oxidised Champagne, intentionally of course, but with oak and Brut natur and this style it can come off as a bit rustic which I think it does. It is not quite my style but it is good. Cherry, orange, peach, chestnut, burnt levain bread, old wood and mature cheese. Has some creaminess to it and a marine sense of minerality. This is to me a very typical ”Aube grower” style.

Vintage 2016, dg in 2019. All pinot noir apparently from north facing parcels, biodynamically farmed. Red berries, nuts, bread, very fresh style, crisp, lively acidity and minerality. Light to medium bodied, vinous palate, nice toast / brioche on the finish, solid balance. Recommended. 16.5/20

Tasted blind, glad that this was Cote de Bar because it was quite easy to pinpoint for me. Deep golden in the glass. Aromas of ripe nectarine/peach, yellow apple, brioche, baked bread. Medium-bodied with a moderate acidity and low alcohol. Feels like it needs a bit of a push to be more than just a good Champagne. Ok as a starter, but nothing to write home about.

The 100% Pinot noir really comes through here, tasted blind, showing red cherries, viennoiserie, marzipan. Not overly complex, but creamy and satisfying, particularly for around $50 USD.
100% Pinot Noir Disgorged 9/9/18 12% ABV

Very sharp in style. More BdB. It’s that racy one except maybe almost a bit much. Settles some in the glass. Best if served not too cold. Doesn’t have much depth to it though. More one dimensional.
