Opened in the bottle for 4-5 hours. Better than the critics suggest and delivers on everything you want from a Nerello Mascalese. Searing acidity and grainy tannins eventually give way to sweet (yet tart) cherry, vanilla, ash/mineral, and smoke. More medium plus bodied on the front and light on the finish. Clearly needs time but I liked it. Piedmont like in weight but obviously Sicily.

Really delicious. Was a little shut down on night one but really came into its own on night 2. Decant well or hold for a few years... really great either way!

Breath for one hour; it opens up a little more; moves more more to less fruity
