  • Agree with the last reviewer - this wine definitely exceeded expectations and is still drinking quite well, though clearly toward the end of it's window. Still has a surprisingly dark, bright purple color in the glass. Initial nose was not good - lots of misplaced vegetal notes surrounded by oak. But 10 minutes or so in the glass and the wine started to evolve nicely, with some darker fruits coming to the forefront, joined with notes of leather and dark chocolate to round it out. Tannins quite soft. Held up quite well over the next hour or so, in fact I'd even suggest it ended on a high note. Great value for an age worthy wine. Next bottle from this producer I'd probably drink at ~10yrs and decant given above observations.

  • Popped and poured.
I thought this wine actually handled the age well. Nice earth flavors , and secondary characteristics are out. Still a bit of fruit hanging on there, but definitely on the descend from its peak. Although flavors were enjoyable it was a bit flat. I am still impressed with how it handled the age. Drink em now if you got em.

  • Decanted and served. Had we had this blind we would struggle to place it in Napa as the wine is restrained and made generally in an old school Bordeaux way. At least we felt. The ripeness, extraction and oak as well as acidity spoke to us more Bordeaux than Napa with its juicy oaky wines. Nice pepper on the nose, herbaceous wine, good dark fruit. Well balance and drinks well now but with future ahead. 91

  • Very balanced and drinkable. Fruit forward on the palette. Likened more to a Bordeaux or a Burgundy than a Napa Cab, but not in a bad way.

  • Very good wine. Earthy, hints of pepper and big cedar are pronounced. The age has mellowed the tannins and made for a beautiful finish.
