Serviceable, not terrible, not great. A little chalky, definitely needed some time in the glass, peppery, a little bit of the classic southern Rhône kirsch/earthy flavors, but lighter. Consistent with what I’ve had from this producer in the past.

V dark red. Nose has airplane model glue, licorice and ripe dark fruit. Palate is a huge fruit bomb and the fruit borders on raisins. Glycerine feel hides the tannin until the finish. Over ripe . 15.5% says the label.

It was fabulous after 70+ minutes of aeration. 15.5% ABV, seamless.

Surprisingly more refined than the 2016 vintage.
