  • 14% smells like more at the start. Light. Lingonberries. And I also taste the alcohole. Reminds me of their Navaherreros but not sure it adds anything. Some coffee. Good, but not as good as Navaherreros. 89-90.

  • Carril del Rey is a south-facing, 3 hectare vineyard in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, of which 2.5 hectares are planted with Garnacha. Macerated for 40 days, aged for 12 months in used, 600 litre French oak barrels, malo complete, bottled unfined and unfiltered, 14% ABV. Extremely light colour, barely deeper than a rosé; fresh and well delineated nose, intense and complex rather than obvious, red berries and warmth from the wood, aniseed, spices and Seville orange, cocktail bitters and a hint of vanilla, medium body with soft acidity and grip from the gentle but firm tannins; very good resonancen and persistence with lots of smoky cocktail bitters. It is like a civilised version of Emmanuel Reynaud's Parisy. Very individualistic, but I like the style.

  • Decanted, very light red oozing of berries, minerals and coffee, taste delicious and overwhelming delicate. Glass Zalto Bordeaux.

  • A quite different wine. From what? From every expectation of what Spanish wines are about. The colour is the first surprise: extremely light red, almost like a rose-wine. It also has a somewhat bleak tone, far from any brilliant colour tones. The smell is also somewhat surprising, with a dominance of very acid, almost tart, red berries like red currant and somewhat unripe raspberries. Underneath, a clear mineral, iron-like tone. Then the mouth surprises even more. Although it is highly acid, it is also quite sweet. The fruit converges towards more ripe raspberries and strawberries, the tannins are very smooth, and the freshness is well balanced by the sweetness of the fruit. Long, almost Burgundy-like in its sweet lightness. Drunk with grilled kid, a match almost made in heaven as the wine kind of expanded in the encounter with the light, but savoury meat. A beautiful wine.

  • Without a doubt the lightest coloured red if ever had. More like rose than red. Although made of garnacha, taste mostly like a pinot. light on the nose, not a lot of depth in flavour, but an interesting try.
