  • Spicy, sappy, smoky style of Gamay. Lovely. Smells like smoked meat, salami, pepper, black olive, raspberry jam. Lots going on. Bit of an umami / soy sauce note which is attractive. Hint of VA. Very sappy, slightly astringent palate, but very high acid. Huge length. Beautiful wine.

  • This wine is a spectacularly delicious quaffer. Not the most profound effort, but god damn is it juicy and yummy. I'd say, the best La Souteronne yet. I've been drinking through my bottles over the last 6 months and this last bottle is the best yet. These have a tendency to drink best in the first year, but this year I was a bit too early with most of them. The aromas are bright, high toned red fruit, some green briar, and elegant, lifted minerals. Really lovely stuff. Palate has a lovely soft texture on a medium body, but it really is silky in nature. Tannins are light, acid is strong, and again you have all high toned red fruit: raspberries, some strawberries... lovely briar and light minerals throughout. Really delicious and perfect in on the palate, for what it is. Not over the top in complexity, but so lovely. More delightful high toned red fruit on the finish with fresh quartz minerailty, pepper, and vibrant acidity carrying into a sensation that lasts 30 seconds. Really yummy wine.

  • Started like a mouthful of berries and developed a peppery finish over time. So smooth. Delicious!
