Community Tasting Notes (4) Avg Score: 87 points

  • I have to say this was a perfect example of a wine that had no business aging this long or becoming the rather beautiful wine it did become after some 7 years in my cellar. I should really give it a higher score, because it started out harsh, very acidic and highly tannic, and I know why it was sold at discount all those years ago, because in general this kind of wine is not meant for the immediate consumption that would be indicated by its modest price. But after all these years of ignoring it, it has become rather interesting, seamless, broad and lush on the palate, with youthful color, fresh fruit and an assertive and balanced palate. What a surprise.

  • Has improved since the last tasting, that is, it's more integrated and juicy tasting. Acidity is still a bit harsh and tanins still present to mar the finish. Not bad for a cheap wine.

  • Opened and not decanted. Consumed at Deb Sherman's Open Studios showing. Fun party wine with soft dark fruits on the palate. Would purchase again for similar type of events.

  • I agree with the WS notes--very modern in style with plenty of oak influence but some nice dark chocolate and ripe blackberry notes as well.
