Initial PNP didn't show much of a pinot type nose; marginal funk, muted nose. After a half hour the nose really "exploded" with that lovely woodsy pinot funk and sweet red fruit Day two was about as good. Great QPR.
Similar to my 6/23/2021 TN. Same experiment with only half the bottle decanted. Same results, although not as tannic as last time. PnP provided the freshest, most satisfying drink. Although this seems to have the stuffing to last a few more years, it certainly is at or near peak now. Enjoy!

Decanted half the bottle 45 minutes prior to serving. A bit darker than your average pinot with dark fruit and earth on the nose. Dark cherries, spices, cola with even a bit of cranberry on the palate. A surprising amount of tannin and good acid on the finish. The decanted sample was a bit smoother, while the sample straight from the bottle was fresher and bit more energetic. The question is - will the fruit rise above and outlast the tannic structure...?

This showed a little more balance next to the Franny Beck. Still a ripe dark fruit nose, some baking spice, but the palate has a bit more lift and energy with more obvious acidity. Again, easy to drink, could be a good party wine and nice enough to sit with for a couple hours.

A good wine that I'd imagine would be crowd pleaser at most summer events. A sweeter spicier wine, to me a typical Oregon or California Pinot Noir....that said a good wine, a drinker.
