  • Youthful, fresh, with a bit of Savigny 'fire.' With an hour+ air time, softens to give supple, smooth mature pinot texture with still-reticent flavors, some leather, some gout de terroir. A thoroughly satisfactory bottle, especially at $25. No rush, but no opportunity cost to open now.

  • I really enjoyed this bottle. It's not the most complex, either on the nose or the palate, but it is really satisfying, and just my style of burgundy. Light, transparent ruby color. Reticent aromatics of damp soil and red Pinot fruit. The palate is bright and crunchy textured, no 2000 softness here. But it's smooth and satisfying with its light weight balance act, and it's got a bit of a tannic frame left to it. Is it a deep wine? No. But it scratched that burgundy itch for me.
