($14) Slight greenness to the nose? A bit Syrah-like? Medium-bodied, ripe, but under-concentrated and not very supple. A little bretty along with some powdery flavors. American oak. Not much balance. A bit minty perhaps.

Was still O.K. to drink but definitely on the downhill side.

Very nice for a more commercial producer. Nice and oaky with solid tannins. Nose was equally robust both for a merlot, and for a cheaper producer.

Jammier nose. Black cherry. Spicy, tannic. Long and huge.
