Expressive nose with herbal and black cherry notes. Palate was mid weight flavors of smoked meat, cherry pit, thyme with lively and juicy acidity. Excellent today and for 5+ years.

Thoroughly enjoyable from nose to finish tail; best village-level Burgundy I have tasted in years. Classic, characteristic, no flaws of any kind. To our great surprise, blew away the more pedigreed 2008 Clos de la Marechale that followed. Last and best of 4 bottles bought on late release around 2016.

Medium garnet, inviting nose of earth, crushed stones, grilled meats and floral notes, meaty on the attack with lively red fruit, soft tannins, juicy acidity and spice, medium length finish dominated by red fruit, orange peel, dried cherries, umami and hints of wood, outstanding

I am afraid I may have under rated this one. This bottle, at least, confirms for me that this is one of the finest Village level red burgundies I’ve ever had of this age. Pale red with a rusty hue. Nose and mouth both stellar. Light cherry, sandy soil, and red berries all set forth very nicely. Piquant cherry fruit, with excellent grip and balance. Drinking really beautifully at age 17. A real revelation. Amazing I was able to buy it only a couple of months ago at about $35. 4-13-16-8: 91/100.

Popped and poured. I had no idea what to expect from this; it’s a pleasant surprise. Solid translucent ruby. No obvious signs of age. Nose has light cherries, rose petals, floral qualities. Fully mature in the mouth, all tannins resolved. Slightly bitter aftertaste is the only negative. Worth the modest price, though. 4-12-14-7: 87/100.
