Tasted after a 45 minute decant, but probably didn’t really need it. Dark ruby in colour with lovely aromas of sweet black fruit, black liquorice, chocolate, cedar & slightly herbal. On the palate, full bodied black fruit, cassis/blackberry, liquorice, chocolate, oak as cedar, slightly herbal, medium acidity, high soft tannins with a long finish to slightly spicy, black liquorice. Excellent flavour, pleasant & mellow, & no reason to bottle age any longer. Drink it up now!
Another really nice wine from Lariana! Drank this one beside a couple of big Cali cabs and the Lariana held its own.
Dark berry, cassis and licorice on the nose. The carménère added some interesting flavors and mouth feel to this wine. Structured, softening tannins with light balanced acidity and medium finish.
Compared to the Cali cabs (2016 Freemark Abbey and 2018 Anakota) the Lariana was a touch less complex, but not really a fair comparison at 1/2 the price.
Another excellent wine from Lariana - I need to get some more...
Very nice. New world style but well made with good structure and balance. Rich, velvety and smooth. Loam (is that the carmenere?), black fruit and licorice are notable characteristics among others. Overall a solid wine at this price point. Drinking well now but likely able to go several more years.

Lariana "Thirteen" to "Eighteen" Vertical, and some BC Rosés: Had as part of a "Thirteen" to "Eighteen" vertical (I didn't have the foresight to keep any "Twelve").
Nicest nose, best overall balance and finish. Dark fruits, pyrazines nicely in check versus other years.
10 tasters - ranked 1 of 6 (by a solid margin).
