Delicious smokey Burgundy. Cherries, wood smoke and cloves - well balanced between fruit and savoury acidity.
Ripe, pretty. Strawberry, cherry.
Airoldi Fine Wines Winter Tasting (Oak Barrel, Elizabeth Street, Sydney): wet, slight stalks, wild blackberry, earthy, very slight wood glue. Sourly juicy, perhaps a little volatile? Plenty of grip on the mid palate. Nah.
Nice fruity and oaky Mercurey, can mature for at least 5 years but why bother because it’s already delicious today.
