  • My first French Passetoutgrain, so I don't have a reference point to judge it against. Delicious. More Beaujolais than Burgundy, but with a herbal/forest floor element to it. Would buy again. Would try other Burgundies from Liger-Belair.

  • Gamay for today! The spiciness and earth notes here take center stage over a red-fruited nose of cranberry and tart cherry. The acidity pokes out a bit more than preferred the the wine shows fun personality with some aged development: soil, underbrush and manure aromas that add to the aromatic spectrum. Good bistro wine. 87-88.

  • PnP for a Friday spaghetti dinner at the in laws.

    -color: a light ruby
    -clarity: medium clairity
    -body:medium body
-aroma:dark raspberry and cranberry notes with a light candies fruity Gamay edge and a touch of earthiness
-palate:cranberry candy, a little tartness but with a refined richness,
    -acidity:medium
-tannins: medium low to maybe a medium

An interesting blend of pinot noir and Gamay, there was much more of the light fruit Gamay note than the earthiness I would expect in a Pinot noir. Still excellent with dinner

  • Not noted on the bottle but I believe this is a Passetoutgrain bottling. Very nice indeed. Day-bright ruby red in the glass. The nose and palate show nice refined grapey notes from carbonic maceration alongside bright and crunchy yet mildly rustic red berries. Sappy, earthy, and mineral in layers. Just gorgeous. Midpalate is singing right now with a lithe texture and great acidity pronouncing the red fruits then showing off its complexity developing into herbal and sauvage notes and a medium (+) mineral finish. This is delicious wine. QPR is outstanding too.
