I cannot remember what exactly I had this with or when, but I do remember this: This wine consistently overdelivers. This is a wine I would use to introduce a US cabernet drinker to European wines, as they use oak and ripe fruit deftly.

Pleasant, not special. Good value under $20 for a bolder red that is a "real" wine. Very drinkable now, tannins are light and fruit is in a nice, full-but-mild place. Neither overall body nor oak is heavy.

- Brick color - Exactly a Rioja! Anise and somewhat balanced with light to no fruit coming through. Great value!

Eyes: mid ruby color, garnet on rim
Nose: strong scent aging wine. Plum, berries of mixed black, red, leather, licorice, earthy, vanille, cedar, pepper
Palate: dry, mid+ acidity, mid+ tannin, heavy body, high alcohol, strong finish, nice complexity
Cheesy finish, licorice, leather
Well made, fine aged Rioja reserva. Want to try again later!!

Subdued nose. Round on the palate with nice plum and blackberries. Vibrant acidity, good finish with licorice notes.
