Rustic style of Plavac Mali shines through in a subtle way. Raisin and dried fruit are prominent. The oak wraps the wine in a buttery caramel but is not obtrusive and is rather complementary. Tannins were a little grainy and the wine seems unfiltered but the flavours come together really nicely. A great example of what one can do with this grape.

Not as good as 2012. Bright raspberry and cherry. Hint of candy but also of herbs and some bitter tar. White truffle too. Stern acids and tannins. Almost Barolo-esque. A bit reticent though. Didn’t really become terribly expressive or compelling. A hint of alcoholic heat. Perhaps too young. Very good though. Excellent with chocolate, incidentally! 94+
Unfortunately the price is stupid.
