Rich and buttery - this is for drinkers who like the extracted Cali Chard style. Nice barrel-fermented touch that is mostly successful balancing the richness of this fruit. Lots of ripe stone fruit - apricot and peach in particular - with some honey that leads to a creamy, viscous finish with some subtle spice notes.

Ripe and tropical start, a touch buttery, with a whiff of matchstick reduction that dissipates after a few minutes in the glass. Full bodied and viscous, this borders on voluptuous, but it's the balance and brightness that provide a much-needed lip-smacking aspect to the spicy stonefruit, baking spices, and peach syrup flavors. Delicious.

2017 Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay (Santa Barbara, California) Big volume, big value, big seller, big flavour. Alluring aromas of peach, star fruit, honeysuckle and toffee. A fruit forward yet creamy style wine with tropical notes of pineapple and melon. Nicely integrated oak with some old style butter (although considerably less than lubed the ginormous size popcorn consumed during my last Last Tango in Paris viewing). Slightly hot (14.5%) but definitely a long satisfying finish (the wine, not the movie).

The lower score is due to the fact this wine diminished greatly in just the last few months. If you have any drink them now, don’t wait.

Possibly because of its age (3 years) this white wine had little flavor.
