Double decanted 4h prior to bottom neck. Needed another 1h to open up. I don’t think double decanting works unless the return fill is to shoulder level. Just not enough space to breathe and open.
Beautiful nose of dark fruits maybe a bit of plum and cassis. There is a bit of herbal freshness that points to Italy or maybe it is just a hint of pyrazines. Slightest hint of savory mushrooms, maybe a touch of leather, but this is still in a quite primary phase. Palate is delicious and is medium to full body. Lovely acidity that makes the fruit nice and bright. Purple fruits the slightest bit of savory earth, leather, and mushroom. Finish is long and similar to palate but more savory and secondary (dried plums, dried fruits). Maybe touch a fig, hint of leather and dusty earth. Great structure a great acidity.
Drinking fantastic now. Recommend a proper 1h decant. Will go another 10 to 15 years and the cellar easily.
Coravin. A big fan of Bolgheri - without Sangiovese - from my most recent trip to Italy. Antinori Guado al Tasso was a revelation to me, and this wine is similar in taste.

While drinking nicely now, this Italian blend needs more time to fully develop. Today, there are complex notes of cedar, tobacco, and clove with a touch of sweetness on the finish. There is great blackberry, plum-like fruit that needs at least two hours to fully integrate with the secondary flavors. Believe this will get even better with some more age.
