Pale straw yellow with no signs of aging. Remarkably fresh and youthful for a 1990 vintage Champagne. Typical Blanc de Blancs flavor profile with plenty of citrus notes and just a touch of lees. If anything, this is under-ripe in context with the vintage. Fairly straight forward without a lot of complexity, the midpalate fades to an overly tart finish. In comparison to the Clos de Goisses tasted previously in the evening, this is a step down and a bit harsh.

Chelsea's Third Annual Birthday Wine Tasting (Lancaster, PA): A nice example of aged champagne that was a great way to wake up our palates and make a toast.
