  • From a 375ml.

The nose is a bit muted, but with dark fruit and a little heat. On the palate there is an initial bite of acidity, more of the dark fruits, with hints of a stem/vegetal nature. Sweet, yes, but not cloyingly so. The finish is moderately long, slightly drying and with more of those stems.

At ~US$12 for a half bottle this is very decent value.

  • 100% Grenache, alcohol is 16%. Tastes like an LBV Port with some age, and combined with a Southern Rhone red. A pretty, stewed strawberry meets dried fig nose, shows some development. Quite sweet on the palate, balanced with pleasantly coarse, stemlike tannins one often finds in Grenache. Just a bit of heat on the finish. Somewhat restrained (at least at this stage) and could be more complex, but still a very nice and interesting wine, I enjoyed it.

  • Intense primary and tertiary aromas. Candied raspberry, candied and ripe black fruits, mushroom, funk, leather, earth, leather, high acid, non-astringent but drying tannins. Medium-sweet. Full bodied. This wine is ready to drink now but would benefit from further ageing (5 or so years). Long finish
