N: Slightly closed; Attractive RIPE berries with notes of spice & hints of pyrazines
P: LM body; NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by an astringent PUCKER which stays within hailing distance of the init frt as it seamlessly morphs into a LONG finish with a bitter/tangy/swt trialectic to the dusty tannins. For my palate this NEEDS another 18-24 mos of cellaring, though the relatives who purchased it seemed quite happy with it as served. Also, the wine's firmness/structure wasn't at all an issue with the night's Calzone (Sausage)/Marinara & Cannelloni/Marinara.
// Day 6: While showing some oxygenation, I found it surprisingly pleasant & most definitely softer in structure than on Day 1.
// ∑: Striking me as > along the lines of an entry level Brunello, or poss a "big" Chianti Classico, *if* we had another bottle I'd want to cellar it into at least mid '22, probably early '23, *or* give it a SUBSTANTIAL decant prior. 14.1% ABV; My EXC-, poss EXC with addt'l cellaring

From Owen Roe's Red Willow estate vineyard. On the nose this is bursting with red fruits and flowers. Cherry, strawberry and raspberry aromas are met with a chorus of floral notes, red vines, dusty earth and pastry dough. Medium body frame supports moderate tannins and juicy, moderate plus acidity. Flavors follow the nose; rich strawberry, cherry and raspberry flavors come packed with notes of red vines, flowers, mineral, earth and pastry crust. Smooth textures and a moderate lingering finish. This needs some time to come into its own
