  • I knew immediately that this was a Ribera del Duero. Still fresh and very mouth coating. Not viscous but rather a round and thinner mouth feel. I get some vegetable like dried bay leaf, some paprika spice, plum skin and chocolate.

  • A year ago I rated this wine a 90 but this bottle never really wowed me. It actually kind of reminds me of some Bordeaux reds that go dumb. There was a good bit of fruit on 2nd day but the tannin was still very noticeable rather than well integrated. Maybe it is bottle variation or maybe I was entering a Covid19 depression state where anything fun was blown out of proportion? LOL. Anyway it was a little better on day 3 probably giving more support for the bottle variation theory.

  • Very delightful Ribera . Deeply colored almost like a cab. Fragrant red fruit nose. Nicely vibrant finish of well integrated tannin, acid and maybe plummy fruit? Matched well with a cheeseburger one night and a veal marsala, who New it was so versatile?

  • Textbook classical Ribera. Minty, chocolatey, deep concentrated fruit, lovely, rounded, velvety and good minerality. Good but not great. (At the price, very good). In general, I would rather Rioja didn't meddle with Ribera. It's good, but it's far off the really good ones, and it lacks distinctiveness. The CVNE host says "this is our take on elegance and freshness in Ribera".
