This is not in a good phase at the moment. Dull matt fruit and still a little bitter. This seems shut down. Try again in a couple of years as there is a hint of raspberry fruit in the background. However I don’t expect to see this start drinking particularly well before it’s 10th year. Hold.

Decent youthful red fruit but I suspect starting to shut down. Nice generic young Beaujolais flavours, but I think this will come into its own in about 5 years.

First from a case. The merchant substituted this case for something else I’d ordered without asking and I was pretty cross and nearly sent it back. In the end I decided to keep it. Interesting nose, youthful bubblegum at first but that gives way to something more floral, violets and also a hint of raspberry - nice. My first taste of Beaujolais from this vintage and I like the freshness and balance, none of the heft one got with 2015. Cherry more than raspberry flavour, fresh and fragrant, medium weight, a touch light? Don’t know at this stage. Tannin on the finish, this would age. Try again in a couple of years.

Prune, datte (!). Tanins poudreux.
