  • Still a bit shy, but already showing its greatness. This is a marvelous cf. at this point it is a 95 point. Could go up one or two later on.

  • After decant times, my best value prop for CT is seeing when young wines might have an open window. Saw the recent 97 from K&J and decided to pop my first of three. Thanks K&J for posting the note!

Into the decanter, tried a glass at 30 minutes and it was open for business. Blueberries, a flowery perfume component, a touch of earth, spice components, racy juicy still some tannins but the oak has seemingly integrated. 93 pts

Tried the next glass at 90 minutes —yep it’s better. Killer nose of dark fruit, currants, faint spice, candied cherry, touch of blood orange, spice, smoked meats. Some dark chocolate showed up as it warmed from cellar temps (drank outside in hot Texas December weather (78F)). On the palate, more restrained and elegant fruit than before, but a much longer finish, with better mid palate. Instead of racy and juicy, it’s velvety and has a touch of Napa-esque elegance. 95 pts.

Drank the rest over 2 hrs. Plateaued from the 90 min mark with no fall off. Great pull today, would buy again on the secondary if I found release pricing (< $75). Can drink now with air, has at least 5-7 yrs left minimum.

I’m a big fan of Pritchard Hill cab francs, this wine is right in my wheelhouse. Me thinks the softer profiles of the 2019s might warrant picking up some of those.

  • Fabulous Cab Franc! Robert Parker's review said it "comes sashaying out of the glass with tantalizing rose hip tea." Usually I think professional reviewers are over the top but in this case I would have to agree. It is a special wine. Ready to drink now with a little time (~1 hour) of air time.
