  As with most French wines, comes alive with food. That isn't a priority to me so rated down a touch for that.

  Not the most complex wine but hits all the notes for a textbook red burgundy. This is more on the fruit than on the minerality. Delicious.

  13.5% - Clear, med ruby with a blackish hue / clean, pronounced intensity - redcurrant, cranberry, mushroom funk, vanilla pod, spice kick / dry, med+ acidity, med- chewy tannin, med body, med+ intensity, persistent length. Ça pinotte! The oak settles down on the second day. This little Mercurey scores high on the pleasure/price scale!
