Community Tasting Notes (8) Median Score: 87 points

  • Further to Oct. 3, '21: Down to a handful left from the case; this is #8. Passed over but found recently. Developing somewhat richer gold color; fragrant white stone fruits, some subdued oak, good mouthfeel. Almost delicious, likely at prime or a bit past but still very good for everyday. Solid Notable+.

  • Further to my Note of Oct 29, '20: This continues to please--rich (so less crisp than May '20), white stone fruits, hint of FR oak, paired well with grilled Tilapia. Overall consistent notes, including the color.

  • Further to my Note of Aug 31 '20: This continues to please. Held back a glassful for 24h (screwcap), and it held up well. While the color still seems prematurely golden, this is delicious and notable+.

  • Further to my Note of May 11 '20: Opened a bottle to pair with simple al fresco dinner of lightly breaded tilapia and potato salad. The color struck me as a bit prematurely golden, but the wine was delicious with rich white stone tree fruits and a hint of oak. Solidly notable+.

  • Bought a 12b case for 14/b from North Berkeley about a month ago; this is #2. Light yellow gold; fragrant white stone fruit, bit of citrus that follow on the palate, crisp, very good mouthfeel, difficult to predict lifespan. Delicious. Stored vertically (screwcap) in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: For me, scores on a "100-point scale" are misleading. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. This is notable+ when considering quality, age, and price.
