  This Observations - Free James bottle was possibly flawed. I am readily familiar with most of KB's blends and single vineyard bottling. This was different, and not in a good way. Upon opening the bottle smelled off. A splash in the glass 15 minutes later had the same nose and the initial taste was off-putting - Barnyard tending toward musty. An hour later, similar taste and smell; slightly better taste with food. At the end of the near three hour dinner: wife did not like it, I found it flat and dull and Sommelier waiter not a fan - disappointing.
