Brick fading to garnet to pale rose at rim. Excellent clarity. Legs are medium to slow and changed over several days of tasting; widened. Aromas are red fruit forward:strawberry, raspberry, hint of blueberry. Other aromas are vanilla, light toast, subtle spice: clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus evolving to mint over time. Medium body, linear yet silk to smooth texture. Medium plus finish, medium plus to medium acidity. Tannins are definitely wood, not fruit. First two days, wine presented as masculine. Then, it changed to more silky/smooth feminine style. This added complexity & interest. Staying power. At $22, QPR is average. But extra credit for that evolution. Glad we have another bottle on hand. Drink now or within 2 years.

Deep purple in the glass with some clarity that suggests what’s to come. The nose offers dark cherry, blueberry, and cranberry, with some earth notes in the background. The wine is deep and brooding yet lithe on the palate. You get more of those red and dark fruit flavors, but this Eau Rouge is not a fruit bomb. The fruit experience is restrained and balanced with supple tannins and a nice acidity. Another winner from DV8! These folks know how to handle their GSM!
