What. Lovely Pinot! Jk…this sexy girl has more in common with PERFECTLY SHOWING Pinot than typical Beaujolais. Yum! Pomegranates, cherries dominate, but a lovely herby frame make this baby delicious. Very dry tannin. Bravo

DnP: light rust ruby color, subtle sous bois at first, otherwise tight nose, light to medium body, nright red berry, like a three way cross of cherry, pomegranite, and strawberry; tongue tingly lasting spicy finish

Earthy aroma reminiscent of NZ Pinot Noir, but with a lush strawberry palate more akin to French Viognier. Light color and body kept interesting with a slight tannin bite. Delicious on the the first day. Presented some slight barley notes on the second day after sitting in a decanter.

I tasted this while getting over a cold, but thankfully my wife confirmed that she was getting similar notes as me, just probably more intense (my nose still isn't at 100%). This is just super pretty wine; nose is a bit shy right now but shows wild red fruit, strawberry, cherry- definitely on the red spectrum with touches of pink, as if you had bubblegum with less artificial sweetness. Tiny hints of something like soil, flowers...and a coolness, almost like fresh mint or cut grass.
Palate is a jubilant burst of sweet, liqueur-y red fruits and gorgeous acidity that sings long after finishing a sip. Tannins are scant - it's very juice-like, but thankfully not one-dimensional. Despite the acidity it has enough ripeness to be delicious even without food.
I've had some Beaujolais in a similar price range I felt was deeper/more interesting (the first one that comes to mind was a 2015 Coquelet Morgon Côté du Py VV), but this was great for $25, with plenty of character that goes beyond just being "quaffable".
