  • Dark garnet red with pink-orangey rim. Ripe black fruits, blackcurrant, cassis, nectar, cedar, tobacco, spices, mild animal, white truffles, dried herbs and nuts. Full bodied, medium-high acidity, medium-high tannin, medium structure, medium-high alcohol and long finish with residual sugar. Bold, powerful and well-balanced. Viscous palate almost like port. Slightly vegetal on nose after some breathing.

Uncorked at 5pm, drink at 8:30pm. I recommend to decant for 2-3 hours in advance.

This wine had decent tertiary notes but still relatively youthful in my opinion. This bottle would easily improve in cellar for another 10-15 years.

  • Notably riper than the Bien Nacido, but this is drinking very nicely. Mature Syrah that is clearly from a warm climate, but retains plenty of freshness to the ripe dark fruit. Very much more on the fruit side of the spectrum compared to the very savory BN Syrah. Nice wine that is ready to drink.

  • Loved this wine. Dark, smoky, chewy Syrah. Very old school, like Rockford Basket Press Shiraz.

  • Beautiful balance, well integrated oak and fruit, long aftertaste, great!

  • Seems a bit muted (especially on the nose) and it's not a blockbuster, but this is a nice bottle of syrah that's sappy and good with food. It's not "exciting" or "flashy" but it's a great wine to drink with stir-fried this or that red-meat-thing. The mouth is good and well balanced, and the length has a very nice, back-of-the-mouth aroma-thing going on that lends a great deal of credence to this particular table wine - a great deal of credence.

NA: Shows quite a bit better after 2 hours opened.
