  • A proper beast and not for the faint of heart with a massive and noticeable 16.7% alc and funnily made the 2016 SQN Pajarito Del Amor look like a soft wine. Frankly this is a guilty pleasure for some but it was a bit too much for us in all respects and difficult to enjoy. 90

  • A Zoom tasting of Syrah and Grenache wines.: Syrah and Grenache tasting featuring the following wines:

    – 2016 Raymond Generations Chardonnay (starter wine)
    – 2013 Chris Ringland Dimchurch
    – 2012 domaine hauvette les baus de Provence cuvée cornaline
    – 2013 K Vintners Syrah River Rock Vineyard
    – 2014 Tor Napa Valley Syrah Rogers La Herradura
    – 2015 Cave de Tain Hermitage - Grand Classique
    – 2013 Herman Story Grenache On The Road

All wines single blind and poured at around 3:30 pm into jars, then to transported and drank from 6:00-9:00. Group's top 3: Number 3 - 2012 domaine hauvette les baus de Provence cuvée cornaline; Number 2 - 2013 Herman Story Grenache On The Road; and Group's WOTN - 2013 Chris Ringland Dimchurch. My order: WOTN 2013 Chris Ringland Dimchurch; (2) 2012 domaine hauvette les baus de Provence cuvée cornaline; (3) (tied) 2013 Herman Story Grenache On The Road; (3) (tied) 2013 K Vintners Syrah River Rock Vineyard; (5) 2015 Cave de Tain Hermitage - Grand Classique; and (6) 2014 Tor Napa Valley Syrah Rogers La Herradura.

    – 2013 Chris Ringland Dimchurch: A fabulous Shiraz, and my first Chris Ringland wine. Nose was fragrant and dominated by crushed violets with red and black fruit and hint of licorice. Classic Shiraz on the palate with big fruit, some oak and chewy tannins that were fairly integrated into the wine. This wine is drinking great right now, but will no doubt improve. Mine and the groups WOTN....a 94+ with 96 potential. I would like to find some of this!

  • Chris Ringland pop-up tasting (Terroir Tribeca): This is like lighter fluid intense, and yet somehow there's something that I find compelling in it. It's ripe, but there's a certain level of freshness as well to it. A bit of balance. Good acid.
