Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of light ruby colour, with fading rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of red fruit of strawberries and dark cherries, floral notes of violet, sweet spice of cloves, oak notes of bark, herbal notes of black tea, maturity notes of savoury. Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium alcohol, medium body, with medium (+) flavours of red fruit of strawberry and ripe cherries, floral notes of violet, sweet spice of cloves, oak notes of bark. The wine has a medium (+) finish. Conclusion: Very good quality Volnay with a reasonably intense nose showing good complexity, with sweet and ripe red fruit, floral, and having nice sweet spice and black tea notes, still relatively young but with hints of developing. On the palate the wine is elegant, smooth and delicious, with very good concentration of flavours and a fairly long finish. It is ready to drink now and can further develop for another 3-5 years.

Rather generic and sappy without much depth upon opening. Got better with air. More of a red fruit profile, floral nose. Quite light and ethereal with a sappy plush quality on the palate, solid length but without the depth one might expect from 1er.

I agreed with the comment of easy to drink, probably for most of the 2017 vintage burgundy red. I opened to serve in one hour and it brought us shiny red fruits aroma, jammy fruit taste, and medium body wine.

Not very aromatic. Bitterness in the end. Plenty of red fruits. Body not as round.
