Bold aromatics of blackberry and red cherry, baking spice, leather, vanilla...on the palate a little licorice. Balanced acidity and tannins. Moderately long finish. Quite nice.

Probably fully resolved and, as such, maybe a little too approachable. Cherry, licorice, and tobacco, but I miss some of the more eccentric elements from last year. Nevertheless, excellent low-end Bordeaux. Some tarry dried fruit notes present after a few days

Similar to previous, though I'll spare y'all the more outre intro adjectives this time out. 4 days in, cherry, coffee, tobacco, subtle minerals, perfect texture. I will now gratuitously insult the nation of Spain. If this exact same wine was made of tempranillo, it would be tediously masculine. If garnacha, limited: neither fish nor fowl. If mencia, who cares. But it's France and it's cab & merlot from 2015 and it's 10 bucks and it's utterly delicious

The Riesen and leafy pond nose evident 6 hours in, but mushrooms are absent and clamshells minimal. Raisins and whole wheat bread & grilled hot dogs join the soireé Taste merlot & hot dogs, and that is A-OK. Technically, I Can say enough good things about this wine, but you get the idea 1.5 days in, this had a short dumb oak phase, but later that day, coffee, tobacco and black currant started shoving it aside. By days 3 & 4, it's drinking gorgeously, with enough cherry & minerals remaining to keep the currant from becoming monolithic. It would be churlish to expect more from a 10 dollar wine

Immediately delicious without aeration, with a nose of Riesen, clamshells, mushrooms, and shallow, leafy ponds. No idea how this will unfold over a day or 2, but this is already fantastic, especially @$10
Mushroom nose replaced by tobacco and raisins on day 2. Clamshells not on the palate; a toggling between the merlot cedar and almondless cherry, and then your next gulp may give you the black and herbal elements
It'll be a challenge to let this evolve much further
On the 3rd day, I am happy to report the merlot was entirely replaced by Cab chocolate and violet flavors. What a fantastic bargain this wine was
