This is already much more mature than my last bottles a few years ago. Almost golden color, notes of buttery oak, citrus, some ripe pear, some honey, also some smoke. It‘s medium-full bodied, with medium-high acidity and good length. This already seems a little advanced and ready to go. I wouldn‘t push my luck on aging here.

17 Fontaine Gagnard Chassagne Clos St Jean Distinguishly from Montrachet villages in nature. Toasty and hazelnut. Pear, white floral, flint. Already delicious and integrated with some air.

Medium greenish/yellow color. Takes a few moments to open up in the glass, showing notes of greenish apple, citrus, wet stone, some lemon as well as some steel. It‘s medium-full bodied, with medium-high acidity and nice overall tension. Good length. Not the last word about complexity at this very young stage, but very nice, lively and fresh.
