  • Standard cork. Nice fairly intense medium-pale yellow. On the nose upon opening, aromas of seashells, various citrus, floral/herbal elements. Touch of nuts and very faint butter. On the palate, the attack is frank, very lifted by a potent sharp acidity with the aromas as found on the nose with added green apple and a very long mostly apple then citrus/mineral finish. A good concentration. The acidity/body reminds me of an old fashioned chablis; the nut, butter and floral aromas are the only thing indicating this comes from farther south.

As the previous taster said, this is not ready yet - I'd certainly give it another 3 years before tasting others if I had some. Certainly not a sipper, at this stage, this requires food to try to deal with the acidity.

On a more personal note, a friend kept telling me that when I would taste Puligny wines, I would forget Chassagne wines. Well, this isn't the wine that will convince me of that, but then my Chassagnes I like are Ramonet and Marc Colin which are TBH really excellent.

90 today, but likely an extra point or two with the appropriate age which this currently doesn't have.

  • Decided to check in on a other bottle after a couple of years. Still racy and lean out of the gate. Still needs considerable air and more time in the cellar. The problem I have is it's natural cork and the color is darker than I would like at this young age. Makes me worried about whether the rest of my case will make it to the age it needs to shine.

  • Racy and lean out of the bottle. Needs air to show its class. Nose of crushed shells and wet stone. Medium body, light finish. Certainly showing promise at this young age and hopefully will develop with time.

Day 2 and day 3 show even more of the class. This one is built for the cellar and will show beautifully in 2025-2030.
