Appearance: Deep ruby core; pink-purple rim. Numerous and fast-moving legs—medium viscosity overall (13.5% alcohol). Fairly opaque. Lots of sediment when we reached the bottom of the bottle.
Nose: CHERRY—almost-candy-like element (nibs!). Touches of cedar or pine. Something herbaceous, and maybe some warming spices.
Palate: Medium tannins and acidity with a little alcohol heat on the finish. Well balanced and quite dry. More of those notes of warming spices, maybe a little anise and some smokiness. The nose is far more fruity than the palate here. Not overly complex but a decent Bordeaux for the price—a step above table wine.
Food-pairing: We had a creamy pasta and it paired nicely, but we're pretty sure this wine would lose itself to a heavier-flavoured dish. Would likely not pair well with red meats or spicy foods. Rich and creamy is the way to go.

The wine was deep Ruby at the core and deep purple at the rim had no sediment, was clear, opaque and had med high viscosity . The alcohol content was 13.5 % On the nose there were aromas of bacon, smoke, tobacco, graphite and dark cherry. On the palate I tasted blackcurrant, tobacco, cherry, anise and cocoa. The wine was high in tannin and had medium acid, alcohol and finish. The wine was well balanced but lacked some complexity. The tannins dissipated quite a bit when paired with my rib eye steak and potatoes roasted in duck fat. This wine could use a few more years ( 3 to 5 ) in the bottle and should improve with age. THhs wine is really good value for the price.

Tasty, with herbal notes, black cherry, plum, cigar box/tobacco, slight cocoa powder.
