Quite a bit of seepage on the cork. Colour still more ruby than garnet with no clear rim visible - quite impressive given the relative age of an entry level wine. Very little on the nose. Palate is super juicy sustained blackberry with plenty of soft tannin coming through in the long finish. Really impressed with this wine - this is the penultimate bottle from a case of 12 which I still have due to a stock rotation cock-up - only coming to light on a recent stock check. For once a fortunate mistake!

I have been wanting to try this wine for some time and in fact missed my order of 2016 and so was very excited and quick to jump on the 2017s. Did not disappoint. It's of course more of an every day drinker but this is a great every day drinker. Very much in line with the quality he brings to his other wines. A producer that I will continue to follow and hope to drink more of in the future.

Surprisingly good for a wine at a everyday price. Rich, dark berry flavors with plenty of acid and fine tannins to give it balance. Nice long finish, too. Well done!

Wine in the time of Corona Virus - Quarantining in NYC & NH; 3/7/2020-9/1/2020 (NYC/NH): Following up on our experience a few days earlier, we threw this in the decanter for a couple of hours before dinner and paired with burgers from the Big Green Egg. Great pairing - super enjoyable for a simple, inexpensive savory wine.
