  • Amarone tasting (at my home): Visual:

The wine is a deep, dark ruby color with hints of garnet at the rim. It is clear and bright with good viscosity.

    Aroma:

The nose is complex and intense, with aromas of dried fruits, chocolate, tobacco, and spice. There are also hints of leather, earth, and flowers.

    Palate:

The palate is full-bodied and rich, with flavors of dried cherries, plums, chocolate, and tobacco. The tannins are well-integrated and smooth. The acidity is balanced and refreshing. The finish is long and lingering.

    Overall:

The 2008 Tommasi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico De Buris Riserva is a complex and well-balanced wine with a long and lingering finish. It is a great choice for special occasions or for pairing with hearty dishes such as game, roasted meats, or aged cheeses.

  • Noticeable colour fade at the rim; nice complexity, developing fruits, mushroom, autumnal leaf litter, spice; sweet entry, dried fruits, sweet decay with a freshness too. Big, hidden structure.
