Another solid effort from Sixto and the team of Brennon Leighton and Charles Smith. Still youthful it offers up lemon meringue, brioche, apricot and caramel. Nice acidity that helps it pair well with food (grilled mahi mahi in this case). A solid streak of minerality and burnt toast that extends long into the finish. Way more Burgundian than a Cali Chardonnay, although it did bring comparisons to Kistler Laguna Ridge.
Vibrant and lush at the same time, the Sixto Frenchman totally delivers. Lemon meringue, apricot, flower, spice and some brioche. A long, clean, minerally finish that is silky smooth and very satisfying. Not just one of my favorite WA state chardonnays, one of my favorite chardonnays, period.

A very expressive and lush chardonnay. On the nose there are opulent stone fruits (more apricot than peach, to me), some citrus, and a ton of minerals. It is silky smooth and packed with more apricot flavours, a nice acidity and with a decided hint of buttered toast with honey. The finish is kind of a lemony creme brûlée with more minerals and some spice. A bit off-putting at this point but I suspect it will become seamless in another year in the bottle.

K Vintners & Sixto & Substance Tasting; 6/18/2019-4/26/2020 (Walla Walla Tasting Room): Spice, orange peel, oak, apple and Carmel. Complex wine and you could actually decant this wine. Amazingly when I was in the tasting room in Walla Walla I got an email from a local St. Paul Wine Shop that was offering this wine on their Monday Madness deal for $30 a bottle. Easy six pack purchase.
