  • A pronounced nose of lavender, stewed plum, raspberry liquorice, blackcurrant, coffee, chocolate, cloves, prunes, dates, and cherry confiture. The tannins are high, yet fine-grained, and give terrific mouthfeel to this wine. The palate is earthy, with plenty of ripe fruit. There is a lot of alcohol here (15%), but it is well integrated. I'd revisit this in another five years.
