Opened my one and only magnum for Thanksgiving. I normally drink Pinot Noir with Thanksgiving turkey but the Janasse paired perfectly with the bird. It's ready to go from the time you pull the cork.

Figs and plum/prune on the nose. Big hit of fruit with a little warmth. Sweet blackberries up front on the palate. Black plum, some ripe blueberry and a leathery/earthiness on the mid to back end. Chalky tannins. Finish sticks with you.
Paired very well with bbq chicken from the grill.

We drank it watching „Drops of God“: it had to be a Châteauneuf du Pape, of course! Anyways: the wine is still young, still tannic, but ready to drink. Wet earth, licorice, brooding, intense. Just outstanding.

60 minute decant. Fruit-driven nose shows purple fruits, black raspberry, blueberry, and a touch of violets. Voluptuous palate with a velvety texture presenting a melange of ripe black fig, red raspberry, black cherry, roses and cranberry notions. Finish has a short pause before acidity kicks in, the black pepper builds, and then blackberry, granite, and notes of kirsch giving way to lingering suave tannins and light garrigue. Best CdP we've drank recently.

Very peppery with notes of tobacco, stewed plums, and black cherry. Young and fresh, but a bit hot.
