  • Big bold wine for sure. Even after a few hours it was still quite a lot. Delicious wine, just needs more time in bottle

  • Slow-ox in the bottle for 2 hours prior to service. Super-rich, opulent black fruit, nicely-integrated tannins and acidity made this wine a winner at the party. The packaging helped too, I'm sure, as everyone commented on it. Cassis and black cherry fruits, very rich and mouthcoating, with a long finish of dark chocolate and vanilla. Just screams "THIS! IS! NAPAAAA!" ala Gerard Butler in "300". A bit over the top I will admit...the super heavy bottle with funky silver neck and clear plastic & silver "capsule" box-thingy, but it is definitely a tasty wine. Worthy of the $200+ list, probably not, but at $100 from LB, yep. Ready to go now and will drink well for another 10 years or more.

  • "I can smell the vineyard!" Wow this opened off the charts, a nose that said this was going to be a top shelf regular. Then, on the palate it underwhelmed just a touch, at first. An hour open it was nearly singing. Medium body- some below had said- not at all to us... Dark. Opaque. Heavy swirls said full body all day.

After our cheeses, sausages, peppers, and hummus on carrots, all adding up to over an hour in the green blown glass Italian decanter w ice pocket, this friendly giver was Goo-oood.

Not the flavor level of Penfolds Bin 389, but just as sophisticated and complex, offering layerd, nuanced enjoyment.

    Yum.

Not worth the Vivino $95 sale price per we paid for two, in terms of getting 389 for $50, but, we drank what the Oscar stars drank, we were told. And, after all, it was yummy indeed.

Glad we got and tried it. In our cellar for over two years before tonight.

Have one more, but, scarily, the silver housing has loosened up, so someone pulling it from the cellar racks, could drop and break it. Have to store it next to the floor.

    Noroc!

  • Solid cab. I think the wine is not going to be long lived, I will drink my other bottle soon.
