Outstanding! Starting to become mature, but there is still some primary fruit left. Vosne-like hedonistic luxury combined with the spicyness, structure and tannins of nuits st. george. Length is absolutely superb, impeccable balance and a level of acidity which makes this very exciting to follow in the future, granted that I can keep my hands off my remaining stash. Pairing it with chicken, peppersauce and chanterelles tonight brough tears to my eyes..

Benjamin Leroux Tasting and Lunch (Restaurant Fitzgerald *, Rotterdam, NL): Old vines, sélection massale. Approximately 70% whole bunch. Excellent flavour intensity paired with a wonderful elegance, beautifully integrated acidity, almost airy, fragrant nose reminiscent of Rousseau in 2017, silky texture, excellent transparency and precision, lovely hint of Asian spice, excellent drive and lengh on the finish.

Benjamin Leroux in conversation with Jasper Morris MW (Zoom!): What a bright colour. Very pure nose. There's some oak on the palate, and a cascade of dark fruit. Supple but no lack of structure, and a superb spicy finish. More Vosne than Nuits. Shows the joy of 2017 says JM, which BL adds is accessible, reliably pleasurable, but not light.
BL observes in passing that Nuits is the best CDN village in 2019...
